“Your first solution is to toss me up a cliff, and you think I should be, what? Grateful for your contribution?”

“Do you have a better idea?” War asked angrily. He shoved Uriel against the cliff, crowding close. “Because I’m all ears,” he said, his nose caressing the exposed skin of Uriel’s neck. Despite being in this desolate, dirty dimension, there was still an underlying smell of fresh beneath the surface of the Archangel’s skin. Ice and water, clean and refreshing. A smell that was nothing and everything at once.

Uriel’s breath quickened, his chest heaving. “Lack of a better solution doesn’t make yours a good one.”

War laid a hand against the curve of Uriel’s hip and bunched the fabric of his trousers in his hand, the softness like an aphrodisiac in his palm. He bet the skin underneath would be even softer. “I have another idea, but I’m not sure I’d call it a solution.”

Uriel got his elbow between them, digging painfully into War’s chest. “Whatever game you’re playing, I’m not interested in joining you,” he said, his eyes hard.

“Who says I’m playing a game?” War pressed his nose harder against the curve of Uriel’s neck, inhaling deeply. “You never wanted to try again, Uri? Even once?”

War froze when something cold pressed against his neck. Uriel’s ice blade.

“Stop touching me,” Uriel said coldly.

“You like it when I touch you.”

“You forget that you were the one that didn’t want to try again. Now get away from me.” Uriel pressed harder, and War felt the sting of his skin being sliced open and the telltale wetness running down his shoulder. It only caused a thrill to run through him, his hard dick throbbing beneath his leather. It had been a long time since he’d tangled with someone who could match his ferocity. Uriel was a wildcat, and War most definitely wanted to find himself under those claws.

War took a taste, licking the tender skin under him. “I bet if I stuck my hand down your pants right now, you’d be just as hard as I am.” He leaned back to get a glimpse of Uriel’s face. Heat rushed over him at the sight of Uriel’s half-lidded eyes almost fluttering closed. Uriel’s lips quivered, the bow shape enticing, causing War’s skin to tighten in anticipation. He’d never kissed the Archangel, and it was an oversight he was going to correct right that fucking second. He hated everything that Uriel was, everything he stood for, but physical attraction didn’t care about that, and War wasn’t one to deny himself pleasure where he could get it.
