Today I am so pleased to welcome Eden Winters to Joyfully Jay. Eden has come to talk to us about her latest release, Cursed: Ride or Die. She has also brought along a great giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Thanks, Jay, for allowing me on the site today.

Hey, y’all! Some of you know me, some of you may not, but I’m Eden Winters, and I’ve just celebrated my twelfth year as a published author. I speak with a distinctive Southern US drawl (or so I’m told), I hug, and if you stop by my house, you’re gonna get fed. Oh, and we’ll talk about books. I’m also mom to an adorable pet goat named Squeaker.

In the book world, writers are encouraged to create a “brand.” Some go so far as to have all their book covers created by the same artist with the same font! That wouldn’t work for me, the queen of the premade book cover. I’m embarrassed to say how many premades I have, but yes, I’ve got story ideas for each. Nothing is more inspiring than beautiful cover art, right? However, I’ve been told many times that if I want to gain a fanbase and be successful, I need to establish my brand and stick to it.

Easier said than done.

Would I brand myself as a contemporary suspense author, like with my Diversion series? How about sci-fi, as with Consorts of the Red King and The Sentinel? Then there are contemporary rockers, like A Matter of When or Drifter. Finally, there’s the conundrum of Duet, which is historical/contemporary/paranormal. I have two high fantasy novels currently in the editing process: Something Wicked and Mage Bond. Are you a paranormal fan? I’ve got something for you, too: possum shifters (Naked Tails), bear shifters (A Bear Walks into a Bar), wolves (Never Underestimate an Omega), and now my latest offering, Cursed: Ride or Die.

The truth is, I write what I love to read, and I adore all the genres I just listed. It’s how my brain works. I can eagerly devour a political thriller and go right into a fantasy or historical series. Sometimes I read both at the same time. I guess my “brand” is that I don’t have one. The stories in my head want out, I let them and hope it’s not confusing for readers that I don’t stick to one genre. But there’s so much to like about them all! How could I choose just one? So when a wild idea pops into my head, I feed it, nurture it, and release it into the world.

I love biker stories. And books about shifters. Why not team up a biker with a werewolf? Not just any biker, either. A biker who’s been cursed to constantly travel and never stay in one place. It’s a lonely life. Meanwhile, there’s a shifter who believes he might be the only one left and is pursued by werewolf hunters. His life is also lonely—until they find each other.

Cursed: Ride or Die

If they stop running, they die.

Slade Slater’s had a great life until he pissed off a sorcerer, who dooms Slade to a life of endless wandering. Linger anywhere for more than a month, and his life is forfeit. The only way to break the evil curse? Sacrifice true love. Which won’t be an option anytime soon. Slade’s been alone for a long time. Cursed nomads, it turns out, are a solitary bunch. After all, who could fall in love with a man who can never settle down? But everything changes the night he stumbles upon an injured shifter.

Noah’s never known the companionship of a pack and desperately longs for the security of his own kind. Danger stalks him, forcing him to spend his life hiding from humans until a cursed human lights up his bleak world. Saved from near death by the sexy stranger with tats for days and a big, black Harley, Noah finds that, while he might be the only werewolf in the eastern US, he doesn’t have to be alone.

Though they’re stalked by ruthless enemies, Slade and Noah might be each other’s salvation.

If they can outrun the hunters.

This novel was released on February 19, so no waiting. You can get your copy today! As long as readers are entertained by my work, I’ll keep writing the characters who live in my head, be they spacemen, pirates, or space pirates. Or how about an alien space pirate? You may not know what you’ll get with an Eden Winters offering, but I hope one thing is consistent: that when you pick up one of my books, it keeps you entertained.

Bio

You will know Eden Winters by her distinctive white plumage and exuberant cry of “Hey, y’all!” in a Southern US drawl so thick it renders even the simplest of words unrecognizable. Watch out, she hugs!

Driven by insatiable curiosity, she possibly holds the world’s record for curriculum changes to the point that she’s never quite earned a degree but is a force to be reckoned with at Trivial Pursuit.

She’s trudged down hallways with police detectives, learned to disarm knife-wielding bad guys, and witnessed the correct way to blow doors off buildings. Her e-mail contains various snippets of forensic wisdom, such as “What would a dead body left in a Mexican drug tunnel look like after six months?” In the process of her adventures, she has written twenty-four gay romance novels, has won Rainbow Awards, was a Lambda Awards Finalist, and lives in terror of authorities showing up at her door to question her Internet searches.

When not putting characters in dangerous situations she’s hanging out at the farm being a mother, grandmother, and vegetarian.

Her natural habitats are coffee shops and on the backs of motorcycles.
