Thank you to Joyfully Jay for allowing me to stop by today and talk to you about my new book Conspiracy-A New World (Book 3). Today I thought I would answer some questions I get about the story and the series:

What inspired the story and the series?

The story started off as a play about two brothers who didn’t get a long (one being gay and wanting to marry his partner) and the other being conservative and not accepting of marriage equality. However, the more I worked on the story, the more I realized how many times this same story was told and how nothing I came up with sounded different. I let the story sit for the longest time, when finally, I had enough of fighting with the story and said that I wished aliens came and blew them all up.

At that moment Mirtoff came forward and started talking to me and explaining that her people would never do such a thing. She was my introduction to the Nentraee. From there, the story changed and grew. The family drama I started with remained, but it shifted and you can still see hints of that part of the story in book 1. For book 3, now that we know all the characters and the world they inhabit, I needed things to grow and change. I needed to show that nothing is perfect and that everything you think you know; you don’t. I wanted to put everything into question and I wanted to show that there is a price to pay for our actions. That is the driving force behind book 3. Every character has a price they have to pay for things they did in book 1 and book 2. Some of these prices are high and even deadly.

What was it about Conspiracy-A New World (Book 3) that you found the most challenging?

Ensuring that each of my characters had something at stake. Every character in this story needed to grow and change and some needed to meet their end (which was painful), but life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, and you can’t enjoy happiness unless you’ve experienced sorrow.

Where did the idea for the romance come from and how did you keep it from taking over the story?

I’m not a romance writer, but I knew early on that I wanted there to be romantic elements in the story. So, in books 1 and 2, we see the end of a relationship and the beginning of a new one. But relationships are messy and you have to work at them. Sadly, there is a lot that can go wrong in relationships and they may not survive, but they don’t have to end up destroying the people in them, so I wanted to play with that. I wanted to see what happens when real life gets in the way of a budding relationship and see if it’s strong enough to survive. Readers, will have to tell me if I succeeded with these elements are not. So far, the feedback has been encouraging.

Who is your favorite character?

I love all my characters equally. I’ve spent a lot of time with each of them and I’m happy where they end up in the story. Don’t I wish I could pick just one character as my favorite, but I can’t.

What are you most proud about this book?

I love where all the characters end up and where they all fall by the end of the book. We’ve seen a lot change and there is a lot more still for everyone to do, but by the end of the story I’m satisfied and I think the readers will be too. At least that is my hope.

I hope you’ll enjoy Conspiracy-A New World (Book 3) and if you haven’t already done so; I hope you’ll pick up books 1 and 2. In the mean time you can find me on BookBub, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and on my website at

conspiracy coverA little blue world, the third planet from the sun. It’s home to 7 billion people with all manner of faiths, beliefs and customs, divided by bigotry and misunderstanding, who have been told they are not alone in the universe. Anyone watching from the outside would pass by this fractured and tumultuous world, unless they had no other choice.

It’s been a little over a year since Todd Landon’s life changed with the arrival of the Nentraee. Continuing his duties as Special Envoy for Terran Affairs, Todd finally feels at home with the aliens; gaining more responsibility and influence with both races. Plans are underway for two Interplanetary spaceports and additional solar exploration. It’s an exciting time for both the humans and the Nentraee.

Not everything is as perfect as some hope. Speaker General Mirtoff and Vice-Speaker Mi’ko of the Nentraee are worried that the Liberi Dei plot additional terrorist attacks and may have inside help. Threats are clear, but who can they trust? Could Todd be helping them unknowingly or worse covertly? Will these new space endeavors continue to bring the human and the Nentraee together or will a conspiracy hiding in the shadows fracture an already shaky alliance?
