Today I am so pleased to welcome Sam Burns to Joyfully Jay. Sam has come to talk to us as part of the Coastal Magic Convention Blog Tour to chat more about her latest release, Lightning Born. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Hello! I’m Sam Burns, and I’m sort of here to talk about second chances.

First, in the form of my recent release, Lightning Born, a book about a young man who lost all hope and ultimately his life, but now has a second chance at a happy ending, and he’s going to grab it with both hands, woe be to anyone who tries to stop him.

Second, there’s Coastal Magic (https://coastalmagicconvention.com). Not that a lovely Daytona Beach resort with a magical book convention needs a second chance, but this coming year is my second chance to go. See, I was supposed to be there this February, but thanks to you-know-what, it was cancelled and only happened online. But the lovely organizer and convention queen Jennifer has invited me back for next year, and come hell or high water (okay, maybe not high water, since it really is right on the beach) I’m gonna be there!

I hope for the chance to meet a bunch of Jay’s lovely readers there as well!

It contains themes darker than the average Sam Burns book, including suicide, so take care and keep that in mind before you dive in!

Bio

Sam lives in the Midwest with husband and cat, which is even less exciting than it sounds, so she’s not sure why you’re still reading this.

She specializes in LGBTQIA+ fiction, usually with a romantic element. There’s sometimes intrigue and violence, usually a little sex, and almost always some swearing in her work. Her writing is light and happy, though, so if you’re looking for a dark gritty reality, you’ve come to the wrong author.
