Exclusive Excerpt
When I slid my hands across his stomach, his scales surfaced for a moment, then faded again. Fascinated, I let my hands drift along Xavior’s body, amused not only with his scales but how erect he was from my touch.
“You’re being playful.” Xavior said softly, as he smiled.
“It’s your scales. They seem to be chasing my fingers.” He opened his eyes, and I demonstrated for him.
“That’s unusual.”
“Why? Isn’t that your dragon side responding?”
“Yeah, I guess, but I’ve never responded to someone’s touch like that before. It feels . . . it feels like you’re caressing me and my dragon form at the same time.”
“Do you want me to stop?” I was concerned that I had inadvertently caused something to happen he didn’t like.
“No, I like it.” He relaxed a little, but not enough.
I gently turned him around so I could look him in the face. “It’s alright to be scared. We’re both in pretty unfamiliar territory at the moment.”
Xavior’s face changed. Something I said alarmed him. His eyes widened as his mouth opened slightly before he spoke. “How did you know I was scared?”
I closed my eyes and focused. “You’re a little scared, but concerned, aroused, and the slightest bit hungry, but I can’t tell if that’s because you’re aroused or actually hungry.” I opened my eyes to look at him.
“Both.” He reached up and touched my face. “Adoration, concern, a tiny bit of fear, and an ocean of lust.” Xavior’s eyes widened. “That happened much faster than I expected it to.”
“What happened?” I pressed his hand to my face.
“It seems we can sense each other. At least to some extent. It’s part of what the connection provides. I expected it to take days, maybe even weeks.” He shook his head slightly.
“Are you sure that’s what it is?” I asked.
He nodded. “Unless you had some kind of empathic abilities before now, yeah, I don’t know what else it could be.”
I chuckled. “No backing out. You’re mine, asshole.”
Xavior dropped his hands and wrapped his arms around my waist. “The same goes for you too, asshole. No turning back.”
