Today I am so pleased to welcome Riley Long to Joyfully Jay. Riley has come to talk to us about their latest release, Kicking It with the Best Man. They have also brought along a great giveaway. Please join me in giving Riley a big welcome!
I allowed my gaze to flicker to him for what I hoped was the briefest of moments. His eyes were wide and dark, hazel with shades of brown and green in them, and he looked fucking edible in his dark gray suit.
My mind immediately wondered what he’d look like with the jacket on the floor, shirt rumpled and askew, slacks shoved down around his ankles while I took him from behind, his hands white-knuckling a table. I couldn’t help but wonder what it would feel like to hear him cry my name as he came. I got hard fast as the thoughts bombarded me and I shifted, praying it wasn’t noticeable.
I tore my gaze from him and forced myself to look back at Sadie. “Sorry. This will just take a moment.” I didn’t bother to explain how we knew each other or why I needed to speak with him in private. I guessed if they were at the wedding together, she probably knew all about what had happened.
“Oh, uh, sure,” she sputtered, taking a seat again. “I’ll be here if you need me.” She reached over and squeezed his hand and something hot that felt like jealousy coiled inside of me. The idea that I might be jealous was ridiculous, of course—I had no claim over him.
Theo stood and swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing, and I had the ridiculous urge to reach over, pull him to me, and lick his neck, with the sheen of sweat glistening on it, and to suck a bruise into the space next to his Adam’s apple. I cleared my throat instead and stormed away, not looking back to see if Theo was following.
The reception tent was in the woods off the beach a little, but I led the way down a hiking path that wound further into the woods, trying not to stumble in the darkness. We’d have some privacy there. It led to the opposite side of the island, where there was a lookout and a barely used beach. The chances of someone interrupting us were slim to none.
Out and Kickin’, Book 1
I’ve been out and proud for years, happily living my truth. Never did I imagine I would be asked to step back into the closet.
Until that night at the club.
After one too many cocktails, I ended up in a bathroom stall enjoying a hot and steamy tryst with a super sexy guy named Nate. We exchanged numbers and indulged in some spicy sexting.
But when I asked him to meet up again, he ghosted me.
I tried distracting myself by acting as a friend’s plus one to a wedding. Who do I see standing next to the groom, looking like a snack? Nate. He claims no one knows he’s gay and asks me to be discreet. Still, my years of hiding are behind me. Can I help him find the strength to come out to his family and friends? Or will his reservations be too big an obstacle to overcome?
