Guest Post: Forever Asher by Rhys Everly-Lawless

Today I am so pleased to welcome Rhys Everly-Lawless to Joyfully Jay. Rhys has come as part of the Coastal Magic Convention Blog Tour to chat with us about some of his books. Please join me in giving him a big welcome!

It’s a pleasure to be here and I’d like to thank Jay for inviting me over.

My name is Rhys and I write contemporary MM romance as Rhys Everly and queer urban fantasy romance as Rhys Lawless.

Today, I’d like to talk to you about my new series, Mayberry Protectors, which just had its fourth book released a few weeks ago.

Mayberry Protectors is a small town series, set in the fictional island of Mayberry Holm and centers around Wyatt Goodman, ex Navy SEAL commander as he resettles in his home after retirement, only to find out his beloved island is under the thumb of a crime syndicate.

Wyatt puts out a call to all his men. He’ll provide them with a roof and a job in exchange for helping him keep his people safe.

The first to answer his call is Maddox in Forever Asher, the first book in the series.

Which is reduced for a limited time to just $0.99.

Each book in the series features a new SEAL as they relocate to Mayberry Holm and protect the locals from mishap, danger, and even themselves.

“Girl trouble?” she asked.

I paused for a moment and then continued cutting.

“Hm… boy trouble?” she kept on.

I gave her a side glance and a huff escaped my mouth.

Autumn slapped her hand on the bar, leaning on it, and raised an eyebrow. “Spill it,” she commanded.

I opened my mouth to object but she wouldn’t have any of it.

“We’re going to be working together from now on. Very closely. So I can either make this a funfair for you, full of gossip, banter and support, or I can make your life a living hell of Autumnal stubbornness. I can be relentless. And I will win you over in the end, so just save us both the bother and spill your guts, Mr. Shepherd,” she said.

Well… when she put it that way.

“Fine,” I said and dropped the knife, turned my back to the bar, leaned against it and crossed my arms. “Ash is leaving in two days.”

“I know. He said. Why are you all Miserable Molly about it? Did you two…” she started, and wiggled those eyebrows of hers with naughty abandon.

“What? No. He’s my best friend. I’m just… I’m going to miss him.”

She sighed and slapped her forehead. “And I’m a big ass lesbian who hates men. Come on. We’re both lying here, so tell me.”
