Flirting with this behemoth of a Daddy serves dual purposes. One, he drops the uncomfortable line of conversation. Two, it revs me up with the excitement of exploring something new to me.
Under the warm, yellow lighting of the cute nursery he designed, Emmett’s dark skin seems to glisten with hints of gold. His soulful eyes also glitter with hidden shades of amber, drawing me in like a moth to a flame. He’s huge -at least half a foot taller than me, and at least twice my breadth- and his sculpted face is handsome as sin. He is most certainly not a sub.
I’ve never been drawn to any one body type or gender. I’m into personalities, and the more interesting and complex someone seems, the more attractive they start to appear to me. But I have never been interested in someone as dominating as this man.
He’s forthright, which I appreciate, and clearly has no problem questioning me or calling me out. I want to say that it’s frustrating, but I’m too turned on to actually have an issue with it.
Part of me wants to know if I can push back, if he would ever submit to me, but I’m surprised to realize that even if he wouldn’t be interested in that, I’d still be turned on by him.
I can’t help that my thoughts start to drift towards how sex between us might work. I prefer to top, but I can’t say that I’m not insanely curious about the monster he’s packing in those tightening business pants of his, and what it might feel like moving against me or even inside of me.
Then I stop my thoughts because that is not why I came here tonight. I came because of Josh. Josh, who was upset at work. Who was then even more upset when I bumped into him at The Grove. Josh, who I still can’t get out of my head, even though I was only his pseudo-Daddy for a single night years and years ago. Josh, whose puffy red eyes made something inside of me snap.
It was a split-second decision to invite myself along to Emmett’s place. A split-second decision to finally face the music and talk to Josh like I should have done six years ago. And now here I am, pining over both men and making the situation even more complicated than it needs to be.

I’ve been writing* for as long as I can remember. I started with silly short stories as a kid, moved on to fanfiction in my teens (and still write it now), and am also a published MF romance author under a second pen name.
I have been an avid reader of MM romance my whole life. (Ask me about my beginnings with Buffy fanfic, haha.) I wrote a sweet and kinky MM romance novel in 2021 and the reader response changed my life. From there, I knew I had found my niche.
And thus Anna Sparrows was born.
