Hello everyone! First, a big shout out to Jay for allowing us to be on the blog today so we can natter at you a bit about the Rainbow Readers Cruise. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it! Not just because I love cruising (I really, really love it) but because this is a cruise full of my friends and fellow authors! While cruises are romantic to start with, a cruise full of romance authors and readers is going to be over the top wonderful!

ari mckay rainbow readers cruise badgeIf you’ve never taken a cruise, you don’t know what you’re missing. It really can’t be beat for romantic atmosphere and dreamy opportunities to indulge your inner hedonist. From the moment you get on the boat, you are surrounded by beauty and, yes, a bit of decadence, too. From food to drinks, dancing, shore excursions, it’s all about excitement and discovery. Even as much as I’ve cruised (and I have accumulated “boat time” of several months) I find my heart racing wondering what new treats lay in store. And this time… well, I took a look at the list of attendees and am fangirling all over the place. 😀 A dream come true!

And if you’re looking for some of what I find so magical about cruising, it’s down in our book Seeking Solace, which is number three of The Walker Boys series. Romance, tropical destinations, food to die for, entertainment… we tried to fill the book with all the things that make cruising such an incredible experience, one that keeps people coming back over and over again!

Of course cruising isn’t for everyone, so Rachel Langella and I have lots of other books that cover the gamut of M/M romance genres, each with sexy men and a guaranteed happily ever after. We also have several new releases coming this year! Not only will we be participating in The Road to Rocktoberfest 2024 (our book is titled High Strung, and it’s about a heavy metal cellist!), we have another book in the second round of Carnival of Mysteries entitled “Airs Above the Ground”, which is about a member of our supernatural aerialist family finding out that love is even more magical than the Carnival itself. In September, we are also part of the “Hot Nights in the Big Easy” series, and we’re hoping to also get “Healing Hearts”, the fourth Walker Boys book, out this spring. So lots and lots to look forward to, both on and off the high seas!

I hope you can join us on the cruise! But if that’s not possible and you still want a taste of what love on the high seas is like, we’re going to give away a copy of Seeking Solace to a lucky winner here on the blog.

Thanks again to Jay, and Bon Voyage, everyone!

rainbow readers cruise logoThe Rainbow Readers Cruise celebrates the readers and creators of LGBTQ+ fiction and romance. The cruise departs from the Port of Fort Lauderdale on August 19, 2024 and returns August 23, 2024, with stops at Key West and Coco Cay (Celebrity’s private island). Along the way, meet and mingle with some of your favorite LGBTQ+ fiction and romance authors and creators, as well as attend panels, meet and greets, small group social activities, and the Signing at Sea. Plus, the cruise itself, with fabulous destinations, food and drinks, entertainment, and more. You can find all the details about the Rainbow Readers Cruise on our website:

There’s nothing like a cruise to help spark romance, but sometimes hidden depths hide in more than just the ocean.

Devin Walker inherited his family’s culinary ability in full measure, but he also has a keen desire to see the world. Working on a cruise ship seems like the ideal solution, so he accepts a job as a bartender on the luxurious Poseidon’s Pearl, hoping to work his way up to the kitchen and the job of his dreams.

Triton Lines executive Paul Bailey is quiet and unassuming, and the car accident that cost him his leg also shattered his confidence. He doesn’t think he’s attractive to other men anymore, and Devin is eager to show him just how wrong he is. Their chemistry is amazing, and their attraction seems destined to deepen into something more—but Paul has a secret that might sink their passionate affair before it ever leaves port.

Rachel Langella and Ari McKay are the professional pseudonyms for Arionrhod and McKay, who have been writing together for over a decade. Their collaborations encompass a wide variety of romance genres, including contemporary, fantasy, science fiction, gothic, and action/adventure. Their work includes the Blood Bathory series of paranormal novels, the Herc’s Mercs series, as well as two historical Westerns: Heart of Stone and Finding Forgiveness. When not writing, they can often be found scheming over costume designs or binge watching TV shows together.

Ari McKay is a retired systems engineer turned full-time writer and seamstress. Now that she is an empty-nester, she has turned her attentions to finding the perfect piece of land to build a fortress in preparation for the zombie apocalypse, and baking (and eating) far too many cakes.

Rachel Langella is a creative writing teacher who has been writing for one reason or another most of her life. She loves all things spooky and/or vintage, and she’s given in to Ari’s corruptive influences and learned to sew so she can make her own vintage-style clothes and costumes. Given she has the survival skills of a gnat, she’s relying on Ari to help her survive the zombie apocalypse.
