Hi all! I hope you had a great week!
We are mostly laying low at our house this week. Cases are soaring in our area (despite living in one of the most highly vaccinated counties in the country) so we are sticking mostly to our house while we try to ride it all out. Our big excitement this week is we got new mattresses for our bed and my daughter’s. Our mattress is so bad it is basically concave in the middle and I wake up with neck/hip pain, so I am absurdly excited for the new one, which should arrive later this week. I have pretty much gone crazy now shopping for quilts, sheets, pillows… I realized I’m basically building myself a nest! I guess we take our comfort however we can get it right now, lol. We are also taking a long weekend with the girls over the MLK holiday and I am looking forward to some reading and relaxing, (cold) walks on the beach, and yummy food.
Here is what we have planned on the blog this week…

Enjoy your nest, Jay! (We bought a new mattress after our old one was old enough to drive and vote and was closing in on being ready to run for president.)
Lol!!! Yes I think mine is not too far behind yours!
A new mattress!
Did you get a memory foam?
I’m interested in what ‘real people’ say about them!
I got a hybrid — part coil and part memory foam on top. I wasn’t ready to go all foam or latex, but I’m hoping this will help my back. I’ll keep you all posted!
LOL. I got a new mattress in late 2021. I guess the side effect of being home so much – we realized how sucky and old our mattresses were. Mine was at least 10 if not more years old and was sagging all over. Definitely time for a new one! I got a regular innerspring type. Not a fan of foam. I’m “large”, so regular foam would just collapse and be uncomfortable quickly. Also my sister had a memory foam in the past and she really disliked it.
Yes I agree — all this time at home really highlighted how bad my mattress is! I got a combo with cooks and a foam top layer. Just got it on the bed today, along with the platform it sits on. Now I’m waiting for all the new bedding to arrive
