Hi everyone! Today I am back with more details on our upcoming Reading Challenge Month!
First off, if you are not up to speed, the quick version is we are holding our third annual Reading Challenge Month in September. Each week we have a different reading challenge and the folks here at Joyfully Jay have a lot of books we are trying as part of the event. As readers, you all can participate too by commenting on our reviews (for one entry per comment) or by reading along with your own challenge books and doing a mini review of your own (for 10 entries). There are some amazing weekly prizes and a fabulous grand prize, all full of total awesomeness. You can read about Reading Challenge Month here, and get a look at the fabulous prizes here.
One of the best parts of the event for me is the read-along reviews by our readers! In the past we had tons of folks participate and it is a really fun chance to try something new and to share your thoughts on the book. All you need to do is read a book that fits the challenge, then write a mini review and leave it is as a comment at the end of the week for ten contest entries. The review doesn’t have to be a big deal; we aren’t looking for anything nearly as lengthy as what we write for our blog reviews. A short paragraph is totally fine.
You guys are welcome to join in by either reading books of your own choosing, or by reading one of the same books we are. It is totally up to your preference, and in the past we have had folks participating in both ways. So to get you guys a little more excited and to give you a head start on reading, here is what we have planned for our own challenge books. This should be pretty close to our final schedule, but just be patient with us if we have to make a few tweaks along the way. And if you have picked your books for the challenges already, I’d love to hear about them in the comments!

LOL
Great books. I think it will be difficult to choose because there are a lot of them I want to read…
I have at least two books in each of those categories that I could read along with. I had chosen: week one Reaping Havoc by A.J. Rose, week two Hexbreaker by Jordan L. Hawk, week three Captive by Jex Lane (but I noticed Sue picked that for week four so am I wrong in that bejng self published? If so I could read Safe in Your Eyes by Darien Cox.), and week four The Castaway Prince by Isabelle Adler.
Oooh, all good choices. I think we have reviewed, or will be reviewing, everything on your list. I am a huge fan of the Hexbreaker series so I think you will really enjoy that one! And OMG, you have never read Jordan Hawk? B/c after you read this, come to me and I will tell you all the things to read next — I guarantee you won’t stop at one, lol.
As far as I know, the Jex Lane book is self published. I think Sue just had something else for that week so shifter it to covers, but you should be good to go for Self Pub week. Glad you are joining us!
I may be ambious, but I chose one book y’all picked for each week also. Let’s see if I can read two books a week. The covers made me think the Jordan L Hawk books are historical, which is not my thing, but I will try something new.
Most of Jordan’s series are historical. The SPECTR series is more paranormal/urban fantasy in a contemporary world. I am pretty sure just about everything else is historical that I can think of.
I definitely wish to participate and am pondering my choices!
