This is one of my favorite posts to write each month because I love looking at the all the pretty covers! This post covers the end of December and all of January. What I love most is how different many of these cover styles are, yet how nicely each one is able to portray the book. Here are some of my favorites…
Dark Soul Volume 3 by Aleksandr Voinov
Cover Art by Jordan Taylor
Oh, this is so gorgeous and beautifully done. I am not sure the thumbnail size can even begin to do it justice, but it is fabulous. I love how wonderfully it echoes the story. And how subtly the picture gender bends, making it unclear whether you are looking at a man or a woman. Just amazing.
Noble Metals by L.A. Witt
Cover art by Amanda Kelsey
I really like how this cover evokes the steampunk feel of the book without overloading with gears and clock parts. And I am a purple fan so I love the subtle color. I think it is really beautiful.
Unshakeable Faith by Lisa Worrall
Cover art by Anne Cain
I think this one is so well done. In addition to being beautiful, it does such a great job of evoking the duality in the book. We see the couple before the amnesia when things are good (love the detail of the hand in the pocket). Then below we see them when things are difficult. I love the more formal clothes and the use of space between them. It tells the whole story right there on the cover.
The Forester by Blaine Arden
Cover art by Nathie
This is such a beautiful illustration and I love how nicely it evokes a scene from the book. I think this artist does really gorgeous work.
Riot Boy by Katey Hawthorne
Cover art by P.L. Nunn
I have said it before, P.L. Nunn does gorgeous covers. Not only is this one beautiful, but it captures the feel of the book and the characters just perfectly (and if the ice in Brady’s hand looks a little like spunk, well that is ok too!)
And because I am not above a little cover eye candy… You guys don’t hold it against me, do you? 😉
>I have to agree with your choices. All of the covers for the Dark Soul series have been awesome. They definitely convey the darker themes of these books. Love the covers for In the Red and precious_boy (for obvious reasons). 🙂
>Nice covers, indeed. I love P.L. Nunn's works, so I adore Riot Boy's cover.
Noble Metals' cover rocked me from day one.

>Well, you know how I feel about the spunk theory. (Brady also gives a hearty "Hell yeah!") And let me take this opportunity to once again publicly thank PL Nunn for being ah-maaaaaaaz-ing.
Beautiful covers all. I love all the Dark Soul covers. I really need to move that up my to-read list…
>Yes, you know the spunk adds a little something special! 😉 And I totally agree, P.L. Nunn does amazing work.
The dark soul covers are so lovely. I just saw the preview of #4. Gorgeous!
